Food Safe Level One
The Level 1 Food Safe course is an 8 hour program, including coffee and lunch breaks and is designed to teach individuals about worker safety, prevention of food-borne illness, how to properly store, receive and prepare food.
Candidates will also learn about proper methods in serving, sanitizing and cleaning food. The concepts covered in this course will teach you to stay safe, healthy and keep customers and clients safe and healthy.
Successful candidates must achieve 70% or higher on a multiple choice exam. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a Food Safe Certificate and become registered in the BC Centre for Disease Control Database. Certification is valid for five years.
Participants should arrive 15 minutes early to fill out the required paperwork. Students arriving more than 10 minutes late for the course will not be able to join the class. A minimum of 1 week advance notice is required for change or cancellation. No-shows will not be eligible for refund.
