DESCRIPTION:Prerequisites\nMust be at least 16 years of age and be physically able to perform all of the First Aid tasks required to complete the learning tasks. No experience is necessary. \nCourse Information\nThe WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid Level One course is an 8 hour program\, including coffee and lunch breaks and is designed to provide life-saving first aid skills to workers in industry. Successful candidates must demonstrate competency in practical skills and achieve 70% or higher on a multiple choice exam. Certification is valid for three years. \nCancellation Policy\nParticipants should arrive 15 minutes early to fill out the required paperwork. Students arriving more than 10 minutes late for the course will not be able to join the class. A minimum of 1 week advance notice is required for change or cancellation. No-shows will not be eligible for refund.

Upon successful completion of this course\, students will receive a Food Safe Certificate and become registered in the BC Centre for Disease Control Database. Initial certification requires full participation and course attendance. Successful candidates must achieve 70% or higher on both practical and written exams. Certification is valid for three years. \nSuccessful candidates under 19 years of age will be issued an age restriction certificate. Restricted ticket holders must work under the supervision of an unrestricted ticket holder. \nCancellation Policy\nParticipants should arrive 15 minutes early to fill out the required paperwork. Students arriving more than 10 minutes late for the course will not be able to join the class. A minimum of 1 week advance notice is required for change or cancellation.
